  • Frozen Shoulder

Frozen shoulder, AKA adhesive capsulitis, is a painful stiffness and restriction of movement in the shoulder joint.

Frozen shoulder usually develops gradually, often making everyday activities, such as brushing hair and teeth or putting on clothes, painful if not impossible.
Research has suggested various causes for frozen shoulder, involving nerves, tendons and small tears in the shoulder muscles.

Medical treatments for frozen shoulder include anti-inflammatories, pain-killers and steroids, either taken orally or injected and sometimes accompanied by physical therapy.

Complementary massage and myofascial release therapies involve work on the muscles and connective tissues around the whole shoulder joint to improve the range of movement and reduce pain.

Please see case studies and testimonials.

The Pain Care Clinic specialises in myofascial release and advanced massage therapy for private clients with medical diagnoses of chronic pain conditions and acute pain or injuries.
