• When I first consulted Amanda I was suffering from RSI that was preventing me from doing my job as a writer. My right wrist, arm, shoulder and back had seized up and I was unable to type. • Scar Tissue

Scar tissue may be caused by an accident or injury or by surgery.

The surgery may have been necessary but even the most careful surgery damages the soft, connective tissues of the body leaving internal and external scars that can cause their own problems.

Scar tissue can cause immediate pain in the damaged area or referred pain elsewhere in the body. The medical answer to this is often more surgery.

At the Pain Care Clinic we recommend that to avoid or minimise problems with pain from scar tissue:

    • avoid all unnecessary surgery
    • have a short programme of myofascial release as soon as possible after injury or surgery to minimise the build-up of scar tissue
    • have what may have to be a longer programme of myofascial release to gently break down any old scarring that has already formed.

Please see case studies and testimonials.

The Pain Care Clinic specialises in myofascial release and advanced massage therapy for private clients with medical diagnoses of chronic pain conditions and acute pain or injuries.
