    Whiplash

Whiplash is damage to the cervical spine (the neck) and surrounding ligaments and other soft tissues.

Whiplash is usually caused by rapid impact accidents.  It is so called because typically the spine is whipped forward and then back very quickly.  The most common cause of whiplash injury is a road traffic accident where one vehicle is hit from behind.

For the first 24 hours after an accident an affected person may not feel any symptoms but this can be misleading. Untreated, whiplash injuries can result in chronic pain that lasts for years.

It is important to seek suitably qualified medical advice regarding accidents and whiplash injuries because there may be additional underlying damage. In additions a medical report may be required for legal purposes in the case of an accident.

Complementary therapy such as myofascial release and advanced massage involves working on the muscles and soft tissues of the neck, shoulders and back.

Please see case studies and testimonials.

The Pain Care Clinic specialises in myofascial release and advanced massage therapy for private clients with medical diagnoses of chronic pain conditions and acute pain or injuries.
